Partner Matt and I made his wife some motivational signs to be hung throughout the day while she was in labor. The two things that she has missed most during her pregnancy are the crunchy spicy tuna handrolls that we (very) often go eat together and the inevitable glass(es) of wine with which we wash those seaweed cones of goodness down. Just talking about it makes me want one (four).
So we used these two favorite, forbidden things as her motivation to get through labor.
And all of the chard work did pay off yesterday six minutes after midnight, when their darling son was born. I haven’t met him yet, but I just can’t wait to see his cute face in person. And when I do, you can be sure that I will bring her the crunchy spicy tuna handroll and glass of wine that she worked so very chard for. Congratulations Amanda and Matt!
